Learn how to perform advanced residential HVAC and Plumbing inspections training, held at the Florida InterNACHI® House of Horrors®
HVAC Section Overview
In this section, we’ll look into the science behind various HVAC codes and regulations. We’ll explore the history of combustion air requirements and understand why they matter. We’ll also discuss the composition of a flame and whether the 1-inch clearance around a furnace flue is as critical as it seems. We’ll also tackle the debate over PVC vs. ABS exhaust flues for high-efficiency condensing appliances, and learn about the importance of condensate neutralizers.
We'll discuss common HVAC problems, including issues with condensate in both 80% and high-efficiency systems and combustion air calculations. You’ll also gain insight into furnace categories, efficiencies, and venting.
Other topics include understanding Delta T measurements, common client questions about SEER ratings, 90% vs. 80% efficiency, and the comparison between heat pumps and gas furnaces.
Plumbing Section Overview
In this section, you'll learn how to perform an inspection of the plumbing system of a home. It includes a review of leaks, inadequate water supplies, water contamination, and incorrect installations of components. You'll inspect the various components of the plumbing system within the House of Horrors; identify the components of the plumbing system; understand how the components of the plumbing system function and perform; and learn how to describe these defects to clients.
You will receive 8 hours of InterNACHI® continuing education credit for attending this class!
